Getting Ready to Present!

These are all the goodies we used at the workshop! Pan Pastels are an excellent alternative to dusty chalk pastels! Check them out they are phenomenol!

Success teaching my Pan Pastel Workshop!

Today I did my first professional presentation at the PA Art Education Conference in Bethlehem! It was much fun and had a good turn out!

My room is a mess!

It's October! My room is officially a mess!

Fall!

Ahh! It is that time of year again for great weather and beautiful fall colors. This year we are decorating the lobby for fall and 3rd grade students today created scarecrows to display. Students were put into groups of 5 and had to trace a peers body and then as a group worked together to create their scarecrow piece!

I also had a fun idea to get the faculty and staff involved. Each participant was given a scarecrow pattern and then was asked to decorate their scarecrow in a way that represented themselves. Students will then guess to see which scarecrow matches up to which staff member! My example is above.

Be Inspired and Honoring America

"I always loved art teachers because they were so bizarre. They were like the homeless people of the faculty -- all disheveled, wearing smocks, covered in paint, always digging through the garbage, looking for bottles and egg cartons and things." -Ted Alexandro

My new classroom!

The past 4 years I traveled between two wonderful schools and had 2 classrooms. This year I finally have one room and no traveling! So a lot of stuff had to be unpacked. I am still organizing.

Start of the New School Year!!

Hello Everyone! Sorry it's been some time since I have been on here. School started and the past 2 weeks have flown by very quickly!

I have worked really hard decorating my new classroom since I no longer have to travel and I am teaching an integrated technology and arts class this year to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade students.

Tonight I was busy with my personal life for once! I now am posting on my blog, I uploaded some new lessons on Teachers-Pay-Teachers, which is fabulous, check out my Store (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Ashley-Rushatz) and I caught up on some emails.

Just a reminder, I will be presenting at the PA NAEA Conference in October. It will be held in my home town area, Bethlehem, PA. If you can make it out for the weekend or just a day it will be so worth it! My presentation is on Pan Pastels, which you can read about in my previous post and it is a workshop. PLEASE SIGN UP! :) It will be on Sunday October 20th from 8-9:30am. See you there!
